Last Friday, Samuel was invited to see his first parade! Mom and Dad's community was celebrating their annual Walleye Festival and they had a parade though town, followed later that night by fireworks. Mom and Dad's house backs up to the parade route and their neighbors told them that they would have a great view of the fireworks from their front yard. So, they invited us to join them. The parade was a cute small-town parade featuring the high school marching band, lots of local businesses, firefighters, girl scouts dressed as cookies, and all the local political candidates. Samuel got to wear a sticker for one of the candidates. He was clearly very excited...
We stayed up for the fireworks and since they were a couple of miles away, they weren't too loud, so they didn't scare Samuel. He seemed to notice them a little, but was too preoccupied with "eating" his hands to care.
