This week, we've noticed that Samuel is starting to "get" things, like cause and effect. He seems to understand, "when I kick my feet and move my arms a lot, the toys on my toy bar move, too." He is gaining some control over his little world, too. Samuel seems to have learned how to roll from his tummy onto his back during tummy time, as if to say, "In your face, tummy time. I do not like you!" Another control trick he's taught himself is how to move his body from being vertical against my chest to being held horizontally in the cradle position in my arms (his favorite snuggle position). As a result of all this new, exciting development, Samuel seems to need more entertainment all day long. It's fun to see him change all the time, but it's hard to find things to entertain a little baby with all day when his attention span is 20 minutes with a really fun activity.
We've taken a couple of cute pictures lately. We recently tried out the jogging stroller we got from Grandma T. We thought Samuel might be too small to use it, but it turns out he does really well in it as long as it is reclined a bit. And, we like using it outdoors more than our other stroller (which is also excellent, but better for indoor use, like shopping).
Samuel doesn't do "over the shoulder" burping very well. He doesn't like to be held upright against us much, so we do "tummy on the knee" burping usually. We were doing this at Newborn Group last week and everyone was amused with how relaxed Samuel looked, so we took a quick snapshot.
And, last, but certainly not least, last Monday, Grandma and Grandpa M moved into their house, which is about 15 miles from our house. We took this picture of Samuel with them at their new house.
