Apparently I forgot to include a cute one...

Three Months and counting...

As we have done each month of Samuel's life so far, last weekend we took Samuel out to get a few nice photos documenting him at three months of age.  What a cutie!  Here's what we came up with this month.

Friends Full of Laughter!

Some of my favorite college friends came up to meet Samuel last weekend.  Jayme, Jess, and Dana drove all the way up from Indy and Ohio.  I'm so glad they came to visit because it was a blast!  I'd forgotten how much we used to laugh when we were in college.  Oh yeah, and Samuel had fun, too.  So much excitement meeting three new people...always someone to entertain him and someone to smile at.  It was great.  We snapped a few shots of the girls and Samuel...I really hope that we can make it down south sometime before long so Samuel (and I) can see everyone again :)

The third picture down is one of Samuel's faces I've been trying to capture for a few weeks.  It's the "My face isn't big enough for my smile right now!" face...love that smile :)

Knittery

I was surprised at knitting group a week ago last Thursday with two really neat gifts.  The first was a really cute handmade Purdue sweater for Samuel.  It's amazing.  My friend Carolynn knitted the sweater and a Purdue "P" patch for the front.

The second gift was a really neat blanket made by everyone.  Each person made one or more knitted squares and then they pieced them together and backed it with fabric like a quilt.  The center square is a castle.  Too cool!

They were so sweet to think of our little man and give him such great gifts!

I realize that blogging has kind of gone by the wayside lately, so here are a few recent snapshots I've taken of Samuel.

 

Daycare and Work

I've been back to work for just over a week now and Samuel has been in daycare equally long.  Samuel's daycare is a home daycare with a total of 6 kids - all boys - with two infants, three toddlers, and one preschooler.  The first day was tough on Mike and me because Samuel cried when Mike dropped him off (turns out he was just hungry).  Then we felt really bad and I cried a lot.  After work, I picked him up and he was happy - smiling and chattering with Ms. P.  What a relief!

The rest of the week went smoothly.  Ms. P learned that Samuel "has a short fuse" when he's hungry and does not like to have his shirt changed...something about the process of putting his arms through the holes really annoys him, so he pulls his arms up to his chest and makes it impossible to dress him.  When I walked in and saw him doing that with Ms. P, I just chuckled...nice to know he's showing off his personality :)

Friday, Ms. P said it was one of the easiest first weeks she's had with a baby.  So, we feel good about daycare...not always good about him not being with us, but at least he is in a loving environment.

As for work, it's coming back to me, but I certainly have forgetful moments all the time.  I got slammed with a few complicated cases right off the bat...no better way to get quickly refreshed than being tossed in with the sharks.  It's hard to be away from my little man for so many hours each day - I miss him a lot, but I really cherish the time I do get with him.

Happy Easter!

Christ is Risen indeed.  To celebrate, Samuel got a visit from the Easter Bunny, who brought him a Baby's First Easter basket and a new board book.  We took him to church (armed with a warm bottle in our new "on the go" bottle warmer) and he slept through the whole service.  Then we enjoyed an afternoon at Grandma and Grandpa's house for Easter dinner.  It was a busy day!

Jeff and Kristen come to visit!

Samuel was so excited this weekend because two of Mommy and Daddy's bestest friends from Indiana came to visit and meet Samuel!  Jeff and Kristen used to live practically next door to us and they're awesome friends.  We miss them a lot, so we were really excited to welcome them into our home and introduce our son to them.  They were here Friday and Saturday and we had lots of fun playing with the baby, playing games (all the fun ones that no one else seems to know how to play!), and just visiting.  We hope to see them again soon...maybe we will venture south to see them sometime in the near future.

Playtime!

Samuel had his first play date on Monday.  Look at these five little cuties!

Samuel's favorite toy is easily his playmat right now.  He will lay on it for up to 45 minutes just kicking the bars.  Sometimes Mike or I will lay down with him and observe the world from a different perspective.  Here are my two guys doing tummy time together and Samuel looking gleeful on his playmat.
